With Facebook’s brand-new feature SAY THANKS, you can now create personalized video cards to pass on your gratitude.
Simply choose a friend, and a video will be generated for you to review. After you choose a theme and the photos you wish to include, the masterpiece will be sent off to your chosen friend.
Below are a variety of people we would select as our first SAY THANKS recipients!
+ Tyler Oakley
As the King of YouTube, there is no doubt Tyler Oakley has catapulted his way into becoming one of the most talked about online personalities. With over 2 million Facebook fans, he shines a light on LGBTQ issues, particularly The Trevor Project.
Earlier this year, Tyler launched a Prizeo campaign with a goal of $150,000 and exceeded the goal by raising a whopping $525,679 to benefit The Trevor Project! Tyler said, “For me, it’s important to help The Trevor Project every year for my birthday, in hope that we can help others live to celebrate more of their birthdays.”
+ Lupita Nyong’o
Oh, Lupita! We have so much to thank you for! We would send a video to you to thank you for your talent, impeccable style and the constant wisdom you share. Below are just two examples of the wisdom she has preached this year:
It’s only when you risk failure that you discover things. When you play it safe, you’re not expressing the utmost of your human experience.
I discovered that joy is not the negation of pain, but rather acknowledging the presence of pain and feeling happiness in spite of it.
+ Yael Cohen Braun
As the CEO of F Cancer, we are constantly inspired by the work Yael and her team are doing. Through their Facebook page, we’ve been able to keep up with their important work.
F Cancer was first launched in 2009 after Yael’s mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. From that day forward, Yael made it her mission to spread awareness about cancer. She said, “I never intended to start a charity. I never intended to dedicate my life to this. I just wanted to help my mom. This shook me to my core and has, quite obviously, fundamentally changed my life. This was the first time I saw my mom as mortal. And the first time I saw my dad cry.”
+ Ben Affleck
From “Gone Girl” to using his social media accounts for positive change, he definitely deserves major thanks! Because Ben is the founder of the Eastern Congo Initiative, we often see the topic pop up on his social media pages.
The ECI is a U.S.-based advocacy group working to provide grants and help to the people of eastern Congo. Its website sums up pretty well what makes Ben so awesome: “Ben has testified before Congress three times to advocate for U.S. and international engagement in Congo, most recently before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in February 2014. In addition to extensive travel throughout the DRC, Ben’s learning and advocacy trips have taken him to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Republic of Congo, Sudan and Zanzibar. He is a longtime political activist and strong supporter of many charitable organizations, such as Feeding America, A-T Children’s Project, and the Jimmy Fund.”
